Paris is the world’s most visited city, attracting millions of tourists each year. Renowned for its romance, fashion, shopping and culture; Paris is a city that offers it all.

Any time of year is great to visit the French capital, but March is ideal. With spring fast approaching and the chill of winter starting to vanish, March is a warmer more pleasant month to visit Paris compared to January and February. At this time the city is still reasonably quiet as well, so you won’t have to deal with queues that you would otherwise find in the more than busy summer months.

If you’re taking a trip to Paris in March, then read on for our guide top events.

Brassaï, ‘Pour l’amour de Paris’

Running through March, ‘Pour l’amour de Paris’ (For the love of Paris) celebrates the work of one of Paris’ most distinguished photographers, Gyula Halász (also known as Brassaï). He was a Hungarian photographer that was known for his romantic portrayal of the city, which is thought to be partly responsible for the modern view of how Paris is perceived today.

This free event is being held at the Hotel de Ville from 10am until 7pm Monday to Saturday.

Paris Book Fair

For book lovers, the Salon du Livre (Paris Book Fair) is an event not to be missed. Attracting professionals and the general public alike, the Paris Book Fair gives everyone the opportunity to celebrate literature whether they are fans of poetry, graphic novels, fiction or any other genre.

The Paris Book Fair is being held on the 21st – 24th March 2014 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

Festival Circulation(s)

Another event for photography lovers, Circulation(s) is an excellent showcase for young photographers from all over Europe. The event features a wide range of styles and work, from portraits of retired pom pom girls to family photos.

This is the fourth time Circulation(s) has been held and is running throughout March until the 16th. This event is being held at 104 (Centquatre) and entrance is free.

Paris offers many more things to do see and do in March, including family favourites such as Disneyland and the Eiffel Tower. If you’re planning on visiting the French capital in March, then check out the Accorhotels website where you can find and book a hotel in Paris.
