You will never know what fate has planned out for you in a day, whether you will meet your destiny or get that big break you have always been waiting and praying for. It might happen anytime, say you’re doing your morning jog in your neighborhood when you bump into that investor or you’re doing your daily grind in the gym when you meet that person who you know is just the one. And so, it’s best to always be prepared and presentable for that moment. Good thing for you, there are a lot of shops out there that offer great exercise apparel, complete with accessories, such as Nike, Adidas, and newer brands like, Strideline.

We have prepared 3 foolproof style tips for the everyday athlete, that will guarantee to always make you look, feel and perform your best.

1. Upper garments

Make sure that your upper garments, like tank tops, and shirts, fit you perfectly. The material should be breathable, to allow your body to release the heat, at the same time giving you enough space to move and flex around in. But of course, the fit should still make you look sleek and fitted so that you can subtly show-off those hard-earned muscles.

Do consider also the material. If you are prone to post work-out stench, then cotton fabrics would be your best bet. But if you sweat a little bit too much then go for polyester ones. They don’t absorb moisture since they are non-absorbent, allowing your sweat to evaporate instead of being soaked up by your clothes. This type of fabric is the most commonly used for workout attires. It offers a lot of benefits since it is durable, wrinkle-resistant, lightweight and breathable. They are also great especially for outdoor exercises since it has UV protection, at the same time it can insulate temperature. For a wide array of gym apparel, visit Macri. They have a huge selection of gym tops of different fabrics.

2. Bottoms

For your bottoms, you can never go wrong with shorts. Whether it’s you cardio or weights day, shorts will never fail you. But still, there are a lot of things to consider for your bottoms, the two most important factors are the fabric and the length.

As with the top, you should also check the fabric. The most important thing to consider is a fabric that is breathable. If it isn’t then you run the risk of overheating which can lead to severe itching. Another thing to consider is the length. Most men prefer using shorts that are a little bit above the knees. But choosing the length of your shorts is largely dependent on the exercise that you plan on doing. If it’s your leg day, then longer shorts may hinder your movement, especially with those squats. You may also want to add a layer of compression tights on you leg day.  It helps reduce pain in the legs by decreasing swelling and pressure. If you’re going for a run and you’re the type whose thighs hit each other when you do, then it is better to go for longer shorts to avoid rashes.

3. Footwear

And lastly, the pride of men, the shoes. More than the looks, the most important consideration is its comfort and durability. You wouldn’t want to spend big bucks on shoes that look great but ends up creating blisters on your feet. Exercise footwear has come a long way when it comes to technological advancements. So do your research on what type of shoe technology would work best for the workouts you would be doing.

Equally important are the socks you use. Experts tell us that “a good pair of socks can help absorb some of the pounding suffered by feet and ankles, reduce soreness following physical activities, and prevent foot conditions like calluses, blisters, and fungal infection.” So give your feet some more love with custom socks that are specially made just for you!
